This FAQ article provides an overview of Email Account settings for c4 customers, if you are setting up an account on your iPhone or iPad. Depending on what type Email Account you are setting up (an @c4.net account or an @yourdomain account), you may need to provide slightly different information. These differences are described below.
Manually Configuring your Email Account
- On the iPhone or iPad, tap Settings.
- Tap Mail.
- Tap Accounts
- Tap Add Account
- Tap Other.
- Tap Add Mail Account.
- Complete the Name, Email (full email address), Password and Description fields.
- Click Next.
- Select POP*.

Host Name = mailman.c4.net for an @c4.net Email Account ~ OR ~ mail.yourdomain.com for hosted domains (i.e. @yourdomain.com)
User Name = Your full Email Address
Password = Provided to you by c4

Outgoing Mail
Server
information:
(Use the same settings as described in the previous step)
The Username and password information for outgoing mail field is required, not optional.
- Tap Save.
After hitting Save, you may see two warning messages indicating that "Cannot connect using SSL". Select "Yes" to each of these messages, and continue following the instructions.
- Tap to select the newly added email account
- Tap to select SMTP
- Check and make sure that the following settings are configured as follows:
- Use SSL: Off
- Authentication: MD5 Challenge Response
- Server Port: 587
- Tap Done
*If you would prefer to use IMAP, follow the instructions above, however, in step 8 choose 'IMAP' and the incoming mail server port should be set to 143.

The following information lists expected settings for your mail account configuration. If you are having issues with a mail account on an iPhone or iPad, please check all settings:
- Email: ‹Email Address›
