How do I review the Junk Email Folder?

Messages that SmarterMail thinks are spam bypass your Inbox and go to the Junk Email folder. The Junk Email folder gets automatically created when it finds a piece of email it thinks is spam, or when you flag a message as spam. You should periodically check the Junk Email folder in SmarterMail to make sure there are no valid email messages in there. If you do find a valid email in your Junk Email folder, instructions are listed below for how to retrieve the message.

To Release a Valid Email from the Junk Email Folder

1. Log into Web mail.
2. Select Email (the envelope icon) from the menu on the left.
3. Click on the Junk Email folder under Email.
4. Place a check in the checkbox to the left of the email message you want to release.
5. Go to the Actions menu and select Mark > Not Spam.
6. Click the Inbox folder under Email.
7. The Email will now be removed from your Inbox and placed into your Junk Email folder, and the sender's Email Address will be added to the Trusted Senders list.

Junk E-Mail and Deleted Items Folders in SmarterMail

Junk E-Mail is retained for 7 days, and then gets deleted first in, first out. The Junk E-Mail folder has a size capacity limit of 50 MB, once it goes beyond this limit it will automatically get reduced to 25 MB. Deleted Items are retained for 30 days, and then get deleted first in, first out. The Deleted Items folder also has a size capacity limit of 50 MG, and once it goes beyond this limit it will automatically get reduced to 25 MB.
